Laury-
I'm happy with any shipping method that will get it from Oregon to here! I
only chose UPS because it was cheaper. I'm in no hurry, since it will
probably be a while before I get off the snowboard and start sailing again.
Thanks for asking me, but I trust your judgement on the shipping method.
I've been extremely happy with your service. Too bad I can't get my act
together enough to combine shipping on all of my items. I just received the
harness lines I ordered, and I'm about to leave feedback for you.
Thanks again, Laury.

Hi Laury,
Thank you so much for shipping the gear to me. I really appreciate you drilling and setting the screws in the mast plugs. What a great idea ! It didn't occur to me to do such a simple thing to stop a rather irritating problem . Duh !
No sailing at the lake last weekend. It was nice to just kickback and do nada for once. We've had friends and family up to the house almost every weekend since we bought it. And I have been working my tail off clearing weeds and pruning trees. My neighbor calls me " Mr. Green Jeans " It's looking pretty good now so I can relax. We have had a great summer. July and Aug. have been uncommonly windy. We sure do love the RealWind sails and boards. The equipment has definitely raised our sailing to another level. Thanks for all the help and friendship . And thanks for setting the screws in those caps. You're awesome.
Appreciatively,
Gary Tuggle
(P.S.) Thanks for the discount too! 8-)
Laury,
Just letting you know we made it to Hotel Tilawa, used Real wind gear
all week and had a great time. We mostly had 4.7 to 5.7 wind but one
day of up to 6.7, it was all good. I enjoyed sailing there, warm
water, nice people and all easy to do. I liked walking through the
jungle on the way and to and from the hotel each day, kinda set the
mood.
We did some excursions, jungle walk, raft and drove to San Jose over
the mountains, that was a trip, it took 9 hrs. Never made it to the
coast but seemed to like the temperature in the highlands better and
didn't want to stop windsurfing for to long.
Thanks a lot of the tips and help before we left, I will check to
your store in a month or two,
John and Kathy
Hello Lori
I got a chance to try the purple fish in La Ventana - and LOVE the board. It
feels familiar-a turny like my stiletto, light like my yellow board, soft
and a blast to ride. Of course, I wanted Mike to try the board since I was
convinced he would also love it. Mike said it felt "just like his other
fish" - just smaller and he really likes his blue fish.
So. I hear that you might have a shipment of purple boards now or soon to
arrive. Please save one for me!
Thank you for the sail rigging demo. I am really pleased with the RW sails
- light and lots of range, which was exactly what I was hoping for.

Hi Laury!
Yesterday we had a 16-20 mph most of the day, very rare for San Diego.Got a chance to use the 2006 7.5 and was pleasantly surprised by it's performance;smooth stable power and fast on the slalom board. Maneuverable and responsive on the Real Wind
boards; I'm still smiling. Thanks for a great day for sailing.
Kind Regards,
Dave

Hi
Just wanted to take a minute to tell you how great a board the 270 XL is.. I thought it
might be a good board for where I sail on Lake Ontario (moderate chop,
onshore waves but not that windy until about October) When I first sailed
it in Hatteras on flat water in April I wasn't that impressed. While the
board performs OK on flat water, it wasn't until I got it out in Great Lake
conditions that it really excelled. Point the XL downhill off a wave or
chop and it takes off. With a big fin and my 9.2, I can get this board
planning while other guys on Go boards are struggling. At the other
extreme, it sits down in gnarly chop with a 6.0 like it feels perfectly at
home. It spins around nicely for tacks and helitacks. It performs well in
all kinds of jybes (again really likes going downhill off waves) It also
takes air really well. I've broken two freestyle boards in half jumping
(it was an expensive week) but with the construction on the XL I don't
worry about going for it anymore.
Bottom line is that the 270 XL is a big board that feels small. I can have
a lot of fun on this board and with 130 liters I don't have to worry about
getting home again. It brings back fun to sailing the big sails again.
Congratulations on a great design and thanks!!

Thank you, thank you...
Rob and Laury for donating the 270XL board for the CGWA-Katrina
Hurricane relief fund. This is substantial. Looks like this new board
is relief for more than just sub-planing conditions...

The Carib Wind Center is the oldest Windsurfing Club in Cabarete. It was founded in June of 1988.
Through the years and the hands and feet of thousands of sailors we have learned a lot about performance and durability of boards.
After all, Cabarete is not one of the world's finest Windsurfing destination for nothing. Strong winds, breaking waves on the reef, sand and salt are all ingredients in our special Windsurfing experience.
In the past two years we have offered our guests boards designed by 12 different shapers. All boards are made by the world's leading board manufacturers. Well, all except one. Real Wind.
Very few of our guests have ever seen or heard of Real Wind boards before coming to our beach club. It is also quite hard to get them to ride one of these boards. But than a miracle happens. Once they ride a Real Wind board it usually becomes the board of choice for the remaining part of their Windsurfing vacation.
The Real Wind boards are easy to steer, with a soft ride. These boards just make each person feel good about their sailing ability.
Try the miracle of Real Wind.

Hi Laurie
Who says the fish ain't fast!
Took the thrusters off my hardcore fish ( custom built which I picked up last year) and used your 8.5" wave fin and 2004 sailworks revo 5.2 for a max gps speed of 39.64 MPH (63.8kmph) at the 2005 Keho speed trials Lethbridge Alberta.
The neither pic is of a fast run but one shows the graphics
May have tied for top speed at event but I sailed so long that day the data of my max speed run scrolled off the gps so results are not official.
See you in June.

Mike

Aloha Rob! I have sailed in Maui 16 years, and never thought I would find a High wind board as good as my favorite boards I ride here in Maui (both Gorge boards) 7.10 Seatrend and 8.3 Logoze(sp?). I tried one of your Real Wind boards from the new shop Kanaha Kai Maui. WOW! What a great board! I am Nick Warmuth's mom (he got 9th in the freestyle event @ the gorge 2002) Is now #1 US freestyler. I am featured with my son Nick in the March/April windsurfing magazine "How to be windsurfing's best mom". I sail every day and know EVERYONE @ the beach. I am a HOT team rider..love those DIVA sails! If I had a quiver of the Real Wind boards...I could let folks try them right out of my car! I know you will get lots of orders. Great concept and great boards! Let me know! I won the 2003 State and Hawaii championship in the wave board division so I know these boards go fast..would love to race with them!
Aloha!

Howdy Laury and Rob:
Just returned from the DR and had a limited amount of wind to ride and test
your boards... I enjoyed the light winds on the 270 130 liter board...
Perfect for a bigger guy like me.
Carib Wind Center is doing a nice job showing off the boards... only wish I
had more wind to ride them more.
Thought you might like to know... they are a great group to do business
with.See you next summer at Swell.

Hello Laury,
I did receive the spare vent screw(+gaskets) for my surflite 251, and the RW fin bolt last Thursday.I'm set for the season.
Thank-you very much for your "Real Support".......I love it!!!....infact your service from Hood River beats any of the service I ever get at these SF Bay Area shops.
Very Best Regards,
Adolfo
Thanks for your note. I love my new sails. It looks like my 5.2 will be
my workhorse. I also got to see my friend, new custom
Real Wind board this weekend in Corpus. She seems thrilled with it as
well.
Thanks again.
Roy
Rob/Laury – was in Hood River early September and rented gear from you for 6 days - (I was with the Edmonton group renting you house that week as well) – just wanted to let you know that the gear was great and I really enjoyed using it – I would recommend your shop to anyone wanting to enjoy the winds of the Columbia River – hope to see you again
Regards

Rob and Laury,
This is just a short note sent to you during a quick coffee break to let
you know how pleased I am with my new board.
I have now sailed it in essentially all the "normal" conditions we have
on the Bay. So I have had it in 4.2, 4.6, and 5.1 weather at Treasure
Island, for example, and have used it with my Naish Boxer 5.8 as well.
It is wonderfully controllable, and I find that I jump better with it
than with my previous "all around" board. I put a slightly smaller
swept-back (non wave) fin in it (~10 inches but a little narrower and
more upright than the Real Fin 10 1/2" fin that was the larger of the
two that came with the board), and that gave me good upwind ability
while maintaining this board's extraordinary control in overpowered 4.6
and 5.1 conditions. The 10 1/2" Real Fin is perfect for my 5.8, while
the 9" wave fin is what I use for the 4.2 -- all with great results.
The control is simply far superior to any board I have ever owned, and
belive me, after a dozen years sailing on the Bay that is a long list of
boards.
In all conditions the board is fast, as measured against my regular
sailing buddies on their normal gear (primarily JP boards with similar
Wind Wing or Naish sails). The pads and straps are the most
comfortable I have ever had, and the little touches, like double screws
for the footstraps are all noticed and appreciated. Finally, an
important part of the success of this board for me is that, as far as I
can tell, you hit the volume I asked for perfectly at what seems to be ~
90 liters. It is exactly at the point where I can slog it (mostly under
water) if there is a slight breeze, so I can get out and back at Coyote,
Berkeley, Crissy, etc, but the volume is not apparent when I am way
powered on a 4.6 at TI or up near Point Blunt on Angel Island and wildly
overpowered.
Finally it is beautiful and visible, with its nice red graphic. A nice
extra feature for the best board I have owned to date. I hope you have
records of its construction so that if something happens to it I can
order the same board again, which I would do with no hesitation whatever.
One little question about the vent screw. If I merely loosen it a few
turns, will that allow the pressure to equalize if the board is heating
up on top of the car -- or do I need to remove it altogether for the
presure to release? Oh, and thanks for the extra vent screw!
Best cheer and thank you for a job brilliantly done,
Bill
